Hiding Him by Adam Hattan
2.0
I DNFd this 50% in because it was both just annoying and boring.
Some of the writing choices are just plain bizarre - like there's one point where the main character gets a text from his crush and the line is something like "my cheeks swell". What does that mean? Is he smiling? Blushing? Did a bee suddenly sting him?
The narrator for the audio book is good, but he reads in this extremely perky way that, combined with the weak writing, makes this book feel like a middle grade book instead of something about teenagers that are 17/18. It makes it very weird and uncomfortable when the main character starts talking about getting boners and wanting to fuck his crush when I can't stop picturing them being like 12.
