In this sequel to Heart of Night and Fire, Zarya’s journey continue as she discovers more about her power and also her love life with a certain brooding and gorgeous-looking man!!
The world building is unique and interesting. I find the glossary at the beginning really helpful because it helps me keep track of each different individuals since there’s a lot of them.
I adore the characters as well, they’re very well developed.
Zarya and Yasen is the definition of friendship goals – always supporting each other and their playful banter also liven up the story.
I wasn’t certain about Row and Aarav’s character at first but seeing them and Zarya slowly opening up to each other really warms my heart.
The slow burn romance between Zarya and the new love interest – Rabin, the dragon shifter is delightful to see cause I love the high tension and heated glare they give to one another!
I also adore the new nick-name - Spitfire given by Rabin fits Zarya perfectly!
This book is also a lot more action-packed compare to the 1st one. There’s a lot of battles and epic show of power from Zarya and her friends – the Chiranhjivi.
The betrayals in the last few chapters really surprised me and that cliff-hanger at the end slightly annoyed me cause I want to know what happens next!!
Overall, I really enjoy this well-written sequel and I can’t wait to explore more from this world as Zarya is going to a new place in the next book!
I’m really looking forward to read the 3rd one and I hope it comes out soon!
I received an advanced review copy for free from the author, and I am leaving this review voluntarily!
