Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi
5.0
Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi is officially a new favourite book of mine, I absolutely adore this writing. Perfection honestly. The beautiful writing is masterfully translated by Geoffrey Trousselot, I'm so glad to be able to read this wonderful work of fiction.
The format of the book is in 4 short interconnected stories with shared characters of the café staff and regulars. I loved the dynamics between the characters and the personal development journeys they go on.
I was in tears reading this book, I found it very emotional. It is incredibly moving how each time-traveller decides to spend their trip back in time and I think they all work perfectly as a progressing story.
I have requested the next book in the series, Tales from the Café, from the library and I'm waiting anxiously to read it, I cannot wait to continue with this series.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5
