I don't particularly like poetry, but Mary Oliver is probably the poet I do enjoy the most, so I was hoping reading her guide to poetry would inspire some new depth of understanding in me. Perhaps unlock some door in my mind and turn me into an avid poem enjoyer. In fact, it's a pretty dry guide to writing poems yourself, which I'm sure is wonderful and helpful to many people, but I am not those people .
