I haven't picked up this book in three days, and not because I didn't have time. The thought of keeping up with 6 people in 2 different timeliness makes me nauseous, which is sad because the plot seems really interesting.

“There's always a punishment when you break the rules. It's such a shame,” she says, “that he never really learned. I'm glad you stepped up and taught him a lesson.”

⚠️ spoilers obviously ⚠️

The first part of this was kind of bland, we get to hate on Nina and Cece, and see how hot and awesome Andrew is. Sometimes, Millie made no sense, she was on jail for 10 years, since she was 17, yet somehow she knew how to navigate life like a normal person. I do understand why the romance was necessary for the plot, but I hated those parts.

The ONLY plot twist I didn't see coming was that
SpoilerAndrew was the bad guy
. The chapters narrated by Nina were SO GOOD, to see how she was planning everything, but after knowing the plot twist it was kind of predictable…

That said, I had my mouth open for the whole ending, specially when they
Spoilerdiscover Andrew's body
and
Spoilerthe bit at the funeral with his mother

Also… I swear that the prologue is made to make you think it's Millie and not
SpoilerNina
who's sitting on the sofa…

Oh my god, I loved this so much.

Both Tegan and Zelda we're beautifully written. There were moments when I was dully immersed in the story, and I felt 14 years old again, going through the motions with Tegan.

I could relate so much with her and her experiences in love, friendship, and family.

The Mrs. Chiu character is a real sweetheart, too. Every quote she said was a real eye opener. Also, her plot twist had me laughing so much because I never saw that coming.

I devoured this book in a day, I cried so much, laughed so much at the sparky remarks Zelda mades, at the jokes they share...

And as if I wasn't already ugly crying, you throw there Robbie and Mary's story, and I'm sobbing uncontrollably. That got to my heart, and I'm going to be thinking about them for days.

Overall, I think this book has all, but also, I think you have to go into it thinking it's middle grade. YA, it's a bit far-fetched.

Also, I take 0.5 stars out of this because:
1. The Kindle Edition was awful, with no chapters separations, chapters ending, and beginning on the same pages...
2. Sometimes, I felt this was a supernatural/Destiel fanfiction, which confirmed it with the Tumblr Destiel comment. Don't get me wrong, I love supernatural with my body and soul (i have it tattooed, there's no denying), but it threw me off so much that it blew the atmosphere when reading.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARCs✨️

Oh my god, this was so cute! Okay, so we have:
⤷ Rivals to lovers
⤷ A LOT of banter and tension between the MC
⤷He falls first
⤷Spicy bargains

This had my attention from the start: a romcom set on a fae island where he is fae, and she is human. They start off hating each other, but he falls for her super quick, and she's totally clueless about it...
Edwina is just adorable, quirky, and she couldn't care less about what anyone thinks of her. And William? He's just so sweet and caring, they're such a perfect match!

Oh, and Monty and Daphne? They were the cutest! I really wanted to hear their side of the story, so I was stoked to find out this is part of a series! I just hope we won't have to wait forever to catch them in the next book.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for this eARC in exchange for an honest review!

The start was promising, a murder-romance book? Sign me in.

Except the murder quickly takes a second place in the book, and then it starts downhill. For someone who supposedly does this for a living, he sure is quick at making out with someone in a CRIME SCENE...

Then it's all the usual romance plot, not so different from the rest of the genre.

Taylor actually does say something that I agree with, and it's the fact that before a big step in a relationship, you have to have a conversation about certain things.
But nooooo it's much easier to convince yourself to move in with a girl without her consent, FOLLOW HER HOME, and then have the conversation.

Also, I withdrew one full star because of that epilogue. What the fuck was even she doing? Can you all just keep your pants on for a fricking minute?

This was a fun read, I loved the magic system, and that we had two conflicts with the
Spoilerwitch hunters
and
SpoilerZara fucking resurrecting her sister
. Also, the book was so gore sometimes, I loved it.
I spent all the book wanting to grab Zara by the shoulders to tell her she was amazingly stupid for trying to
Spoilerresurrect someone
.
Overall 4/5✨ because the story was so enjoyable, I had a lot of fun, but the romance was a bit meh, I felt like the third wheel in a relationship, and all I could think about was
SpoilerZara standing in the same room as Emer and Jude like

I was reeeeeeally liking this up until 65% or so.

The fact is that both families failed their children so much. Lorrie and Ed failed Knox by not seeing that he literally had a porn addiction.

He even tried to talk with his dad, but he was being an asshole and a machoman, and he wasn't able to see the problem.

Witt and Eden also failed Summer, BUT DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON EDEN. When something like that happens, you have to put your daughter first. I get it. You have a trauma, and you think the same thing is going to happen to your daughter, BUT YOU HAVE TO LET HER TAKE THE KIT.

YOU HAVE TO LET HER MAKE THE DECISIONS.

YOU DONT GET TO CHOSE HOW SHE ACTS AFTER THIS, IT'S HER TRAUMA, NOT YOURS.

F you, Eden.

Overall, I didn't like the characters (none of them except Archie), and it kind of felt like there wasn't any plot. If I wanted to read a story that ended that way, I just have to open a newspaper, it's sadly an everyday thing.

Thanks NetGalley and author for the eARC!
