The Road of Bones by Demi Winters
4.25
hello, if you are looking for something to read that is a bit ✨brutal✨ with many hot Vikings and found family and a traumatized yet still plucky heroine and complex political intrigue and twists aplenty, then Road of Bones is exactly what you’re looking for.
It’s multi POV, the pacing is pretty quick, you’ll be thinking “hmm, are there multiple love interests???😏😏”, there magic system is interesting, there’s a female villain, and the stakes get higher and higher as you go.
It *is* the first in a series, but it ends in a way that feels incomplete and exciting, but not as if you’re on the edge of a sheer cliff and a slight breeze could blow you right over.
I really enjoyed this one, and will definitely seek out the sequel!

See You Next Winter by Holly June Smith
4.25
A snowy getaway to the Alps is basically my dream holiday scenario, and Holly June Smith’s Snowbound Secrets books not only transport you there, but deliver romances that are equal parts sexy and realistic.
In “See You Next Winter,” we get the story of Ryan who has had a long-standing, winter-time-only hook up with Kayla, whose family owned in the cottage next-door. When they both admit they want more than just two weeks at a time, they give long distance a go and discover the ups and downs of trying to have it all. Though this is definitely spicy and a very fun time, but the story has a punch of angst, too!
Fast-paced, well-balanced, and sexy, these books really have it all if you’re looking for holiday reads to dive into this year. Just know that they’ll have you looking up the nearest French grocery store – and maybe flight prices, too.❄️

Puck & Prejudice by Lia Riley

Sometimes a book comes along thay just brings you an immense amount of joy: and Puck & Prejudice is exactly that for me.
The second I heard “hockey player time travels to Regency England,” I knew I wanted to read this, and when I opened it up and saw the dedication to a BTS member (💜), I knew it was going to be exactly the balm I needed.
The story follows Tucker Taylor, an NHL goalie who finds himself transported to the 1800s while visiting his Jane Austen-obsessed sister in Bath, and Lizzy Wooddash, a friend of Jane’s with her own writing aspirations and burning desire for independence. After discovering Tucker emerging from a pond (😏) and quickly accepting he is a time traveler, Lizzy agrees to help him get back to his time. But then Jane and Lizzy’s cousin throw in a kicker – Tucker has to marry Lizzy so that once he disappears, she can be a “widow” and thus have her freedom.
It’s an incredibly fun and deeply feminist story with a whole lot of heart and some pungent spice – and it’s obvious that Lia Riley had the absolute best time writing this.
So if you’re in the need of something a little bit silly but in the way that feels like the best kind of comfort romcom (and who among us isn’t?), definitely pick up Puck & Prejudice.💜
