Overall, this book was like the first bite of a cupcake- super sweet and brings a smile to your face. However, that cupcake then gets judged by Paul Hollywood and he tells you while the flavor is good, you spent too much time on the flavors and didn’t do enough on the decorations. How so? Because there were plot points in the last 50 pages (all like 5 plot lines that emerged and wrapped in those pages) that would have been better spread throughout the book.

One of the plot lines was introduced and wrapped within about 5 pages and that’s too fast for me. I doesn’t feel real or plausible and it took me out of the actual book. So while I liked this book, the last 50 pages made me feel the cavity of too many cupcakes without the proper dental work, causing a star to drop off.

Will this stop me from picking up her other books? Absolutely not.

Not all poets are song writers,
Not all song writers are poets,
The half star is for her music I enjoy,
The loss of 4.5 stars was for the time wasted on this book.

Disclaimer: I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts within are my own.

I really enjoyed the art of this book and getting to learn some facts that I didn’t already know. I do however feel like there’s almost too much per page at time and I got overwhelmed with how much information was on each page at times. I can’t imagine being a younger reader and not feeling like I had to read this multiple times before I would pick up on everything within the book- which is not necessarily a bad thing,

From the moment I started this book, I knew I’d love it. I laughed, I cried, I gasped, I screamed. It was everything I needed and didn’t know I needed. Luke and Cassidy are the lives of my life and I will never take any criticism on them ever.

Also feels like I need to mention- all tears were happy tears not sad tears.
