Under Loch and Key by Lana Ferguson
4.0
Anything written by Lana is easy to love! And this was no different! I am not a monster romance girlie but again if Lana writes it I’ll read it. This was full of so much love and hurt and grief and so much mystical mystery!! It’s the perfect balance of so many things that made it so easy to read!
I loved Lachlan and Keyanna so much. Two people who immediately dislike each other, one who has been taught to not trust the other, one who’s keeping a BIG secret!! But somehow find a way to fall for each other anyway!!! I thought their chemistry was so good, and the tension and the banter! Key ALWAYS stood up for herself even when she was so unsure of all of her choices!! And let’s be honest…Lachlan wouldn’t have had it any other way!!
And I LOVED all of the family reconciliations! There was a lot of hurt and grief written into this one and it wasn’t easy to move through. But I thought tie was written so well, and watching Key be able to reconnect with her family after losing her dad, and after they lost him many years before, was so beautiful. It was the healing that they all needed!

The Jewel of the Isle by Kerry Rea
4.0
This was in fact an adventure! It was funny and fast paced and filled to the brim with chaos at every turn! And it was a good time!! I don’t think I fully read the plot summary before I started it, so I was surprised at all the twists and turns, but it was such a good surprise!! And I actually really loved Emily and Ryder! They were a perfect unlikely match and watching them figure some really important things in just five days was such a treat!!
I really liked the two of them together! They were so different and they couldn’t have been more unprepared for what was about to happen to them…but it was so fun seeing it all unravel! They had good chemistry and they were both able to be vulnerable and also be so playful with one another!
I really liked how both of their grief was written. They both had similar experiences but they were dealing with it in such different ways. They both were still really struggling and not really dealing with anything. Emily really was fueled by regret, and the fact that Ryder was able to get through to her was really so sweet. And for Ryder specially he was having such a hard time just existing without his brother, and seeing him learn that he doesn’t have to move on, he just has to keep moving forward and how that changed things for him was so bittersweet.

First-Time Caller by B.K. Borison
5.0
I never doubted Becs’ ability to write a good book. From the very first time I read Lovelight Farms I knew she was special. But now after reading her fifth book, and the first in a new series…I am just in awe of her. She has a way with words that just feels like coming home. Even the little things that happen are written like they’re the big things, like they’re just as important (because they are). The first time Lucie’s on the air and the way she wrote Aiden describing it just felt so real and I literally was tearing up. This book is absolutely perfect and I cannot wait to read it again and for the rest of the series.
Aiden and Lucie were absolute magic. In so many beautiful ways. The tension and their banter and their chemistry came off the page in such a delicious way. They were so soft with each other in a way they both desperately needed. Watching them fall in love with each other without even realizing it was so beautiful.
I love a sad grumpy boy and that is exactly what Aiden was. Seeing how closed off and bruised his heart was HURT. But also seeing him work to start healing, to start loving again was perfect. And Lucie was so different than him, she really believed in the magic of falling in love. But watching them realize they both just want something real…and that they could have it with each other??? Perfection.
I also am in love with all the characters in this new world. Maya, Grayson, and Mateo and even Patty are the perfect little family and I love how much they love Lucie. I cannot wait to get to know everyone at the station more. Aiden and Jackson’s friendship already makes my heart so happy (and Aiden calls him Jackie and I love that so much).

Hostile for the Holidays by Erin Hawkins
5.0
I love novella so much! And holiday novellas are always such a treat! AND this surprise novella from Erin was such a good time!!! Rivals to lovers and a little fake dating?? It was quite honestly everything good and I loved it SO much!
Stella and Jasper were so much fun!! Their banter and the tension and the PINING was absolutely fantastic. I also LOVE how much Jasper loves Stella. Like LOOOOOVES her!! He’s been playing the LONG game and I loved watching it finally come to an end! I also loved seeing Stella be vulnerable. Coming home and having things be different and realizing that it’ll never really be the same was so tough. But also having Jasper by her side, and realizing that he is the thing that’ll never change!! SO SWEET!
This was such a treat and will be SO good for this holiday season!!
