As I read this, I kept thinking to myself, "Could this be my last potential 5 star read of the year?" It seemed like such a silly book to give 5 stars to in the moment, but I'm over being pretentious with my book ratings at this point (yes, I just called myself pretentious). So from here on out? Rating only on the entertainment factor, and this one gets ALL the entertainment points.

Things I loved about this book:
- short chapters!!! It was so easy to read 50 pages in one sitting because I had that "Oh I can squeeze in another chapter real fast"
- relatively clean! Very little cursing, fade to black intimacy (and not even a lot of it). I know so many people read for the *spice* these days, but I'm not one of them. This one is spice free, so if that's not your thing, go ahead and skip this one. But if you want a FUN story with some romance thrown in? This is your book..
- the setting. A remote mansion in a blizzard? Brilliant.
- we get two protagonists you just have to root for! Both are charming and have been down on their luck, and it's impossible to not want good things for them.
- the way it's all weaved together. We have mystery, romance, a little bit of comedy (because what's a good romance without some banter?). All in all just a dang good time.

I recommend this book to people to you if you:
- played endless games of Clue
or
- love the show Only Murders in the Building
or
- are looking for a fun Christmas read that isn't too heavy on the Christmas cheesiness but has just enough to fill your heart with some good old fashioned cheer.

5 stars, would read again. Thank you, Ally Carter.
