I love the stories in this world, and I love knowing that I’m getting a cute HEA without too much drama. This story is written very non-linear, which can be slightly off putting, but the author gave a warning about that up front so I knew was I was in for. Overall, these books give me the warm fuzzies and I would jump into the world of Cambric Creek in a heartbeat.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 24%.
The writing isn’t great, the characters feel flat, and I can’t get around how unrealistic some of the processes are.

A horrific story set in a beautiful land during a fraught period of time. This tale is a sad reminder that there is often little justice for women in a world that constantly seeks to diminish us.

This is easily one of my favorite books I’ve ever read. I can imagine the thoughts and feelings that the author was exploring in this book, they’re some of my favorite and scariest thoughts to explore. This subject matter is both daunting and optimistic, and reminds me to enjoy my life.

This is a super cute story of magical animals, a secret magical cabal, and found family. I really enjoyed learning about the hierarchy of this world and the relationships between each faction. I’ll definitely be continuing the series.

I cannot say enough how much I enjoyed the magic system and world building. This felt wholly unique. I never felt like I was being info-bombed, lore is sprinkled throughout in a wholly delightful way. The romance is exhilarating but it doesn’t consume the focus of the entire story. I loved every bit of this!

I love Drew’s content so much and this book is no exception. Drew is inspiring, funny, and no bullshit. It is so encouraging to listen to her journey of how she got to where she is and how she has grown and changed. It really helped me to see that I can grow to be bold and strong as well.

I really, really enjoyed this book. I’m not sure if I’ve blessed or cursed myself by making this my first Brandon Sanderson read, but it was excellent either way. This story has a great mix of sci-fi, historical fiction, mythology, a bit of romance, and an unserious MC. I enjoyed the world (both, iykyk) and character building immensely, and I fully intend to pick up more from this author to explore his other worlds.

This was a very interesting story with characters that I enjoyed. I liked the twist and the premise of the mystery, but something about it felt a bit predictable. I wasn’t wowed by this book but I didn’t dislike it. It was enjoyable.

I read the second book in this duology first because I was told they could be read as standalones… they cannot. I was really disappointed with how the second book ended so I read the first to see if it would change my thoughts. It didn’t really, but I still enjoyed this book. It reads as a dark drama more than a thriller, but it’s still a very interesting look into a descent into cult life.
