This is a beautifully written story however it wasn’t for me. I had a hard time following a lot of time and for some reason this felt like I was reading 600 pages. 

I do see other people enjoying it though

I got the book through my library and decided about 40% into the book I’ll try the audio. Now this is where my experience was a bit ruined. 

Im a follow along reader and the audiobook was different to the actual book. Example the entirety of chapter 27 in the book was not in the audiobook whatsoever. I felt like there was importance in the first half of the chapter that was just completely thrown out. Then the second half was just confusing as fak. 

It was a whiplash to have what went on in chapter 26 then to just JUMP to chapter 28 without any explanation as to HOW we got there. 

Then after this experience I didn’t know what form of reading to trust. So while once again following along with the audiobook I noticed that dialogue and what I’ll find important was just opted out

This really affected my reading of this book sadly. 

The story itself I liked. The dark aspects of the book didn’t bother me. It was just the way things were different from the physical book and audiobook. I hope this isn’t an issue in the second.
