I Love It When You Lie by Kristen Bird
5.0
I lucked into finding @kristenbirdwrites through a giveaway of her book The Night She Went Missing on Instagram. I read that book in 2 days. Her writing is phenomenal. It's a character of it's own. She has quickly become one of my favorite authors.
I Love It When You Lie is a story of secrets, life, death, tragedy, and family ties. It hit me harder than I expected because it was so relatable. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Broken Sister by Leigh M. Hall, Leigh M. Hall
5.0
My favorite Leigh M. Hall book so far! The characters are relatable and well executed. This one is for fans of dark and twisted psychological thrillers! Early on I really thought I had it all figured out, but I was pleasantly surprised at the end that I was wrong! This is a page turner that will not disappoint!.

They Are the Hunters by Faith Gardner
5.0
I have read almost all of Faith Gardner's books and for some reason this one felt different. The multiple narrators combined with the storyline created a well crafted tale that had me hooked from the first chapter. This is a book I will be choosing for my book club in 2024!
Off the Air by Christina Estes
3.0
An enjoyable palate cleanser of a book. It was a quick read with an interesting storyline. It was a little slow and I had a little difficulty putting some of the smaller pieces together. All in all just ok
Would You Rather by Shannon Hollinger
4.0
This was an interesting and fast paced book that quickly got my attention. The pace was a little slow until about the halfway mark and then it gained lots of steam and I really enjoyed it. The author portrayed the hot button issues in a great fashion and I think it all came together very well in the end.
Has Anyone Seen Charlotte Salter?: A Novel by Nicci French
4.0
Although this was a little different that her usual writing, I really enjoyed this stand alone. I felt as if I may have figured out the twist but was only partially right and it was a great surprise.
Watch It Burn: A Novel by Kristen Bird
4.0
This is the third Kristen Bird book I have read, and although I liked the two previous books better, I did enjoy this one. I found it very intriguing and thought provoking that she wrote from Mrs. Hoffman's perspective. Such a mystery in itself death is, and to put it down in writing is clever. I loved the push and pull of the cultural hot topics. Such smart timing to bring them to life in this way. Overall a good read.
Wandering Stars by Tommy Orange

The writing of this author is beautiful. There are few people who are able to craft words that convey such depth of feeling and emotion. I do wish I had known this was a sequel however I enjoyed it all the same. As a native Oklahoman I am well aware of the history of Indigenous people but this book makes you deeply feel the ache of a lifetime of pain and unrest.
