Cute, easy read, but nothing too special.

This wasn't as strong as the first book in the series, as much as I wanted to love it. It took me a while to get into it with a slow start to the plot, but after a turning point it does get exciting, which is the main thing I liked. However the conceit of it being like a memoir told by the characters after the events took place made it a bit too didactic at times. Overall, it was worth reading to wrap up the mystery from An Absolutely Remarkable Thing but not the best book on its own.

This is my first foray into Emily Henry's work, and I can truly see what the hype is all about. Loved it! Both Nora and Charlie were very well developed, and Henry did a great job of revealing character details gradually but not in a "plot twisty" way so you feel you're getting to know them like you would with a new friend.

It was fun how the characters knew about the romance novel tropes and played into some but subverted others. It kept me on my toes how Nora might find her happy ending, and I really enjoyed the way it turned out.

Fun and cute, and enjoyed the focus on family and friends relationship growth in addition  to the romance. Liked that it was set in North Carolina—although of course it wasn't 100% realistic it was fun to try to compare to real life places I've been. Good writing too.

Main dislike was the miscommunication trope being a little too extreme that it took away from the believability.

I listened to the audiobook and the narrator does a great job with conveying the emotions in her voice.
