Als het spoor doodloopt by Elina Backman
Meh alles hing af van de ontknoping en het begin was heeeel traag. Ik haat ook liefdesdriehoeken.

What I like about Jackie Lau's books is that she writes romcoms but includes serious topics in a wholesome way and of course the descriptions of deliscious food. This book is no different!
I love books with a female grump/male grump dynamic. The main character was very relatable. The conflict is a bit predictable but it's also only 125 pages.

This book was short and readable. The information was good but it was really focused on UK/US queer history. The only non UK/US icons that were mentioned are from Western European countries. As well as a lot of the media examples such as books and movies. It was interesting to see a more complete picture of the history instead of what I had learned through media consumption. I also read more non fiction (for adults) about sexuality and queerness so there was not a lot of new information.

I like the winter and the small town. I think the romance was a lottle bit to slow burn for me.

The world, the idea, the main character were really cool concepts. But I don't like protaganists that are completely uninformed about the adventure they are about to have. For such a short book it was also really slow.
Pet spoon fed all of the information to them. It missed a layer of depth for me but that might just be the fact that it's YA.

This had way more focus on religion and the American military than I like.
