The Hunted Heir by Holly Renee
4.0
The Veiled Kingdom was a 5 star read for me. But, The Hunted Heir fell a little short. I still enjoyed the story we got though! I just really wanted more! It kind of felt like it could've just been at the end of the first book OR it could have been expanded on more to make this one longer. Also, we love Dacre. But, he could've done some more groveling after being a turd. LOL! I really missed the side characters from the first book too. Especially Wren. I did also guess part of the ending. Again, I still really liked the story & I am still excited to continue the series.

I read this as part of a traveling book group I’m in. I really enjoyed it! I was dying to know what happened. The ending totally took me by surprise. Wow. But, it was so good! Definitely recommend!
Those Three Little Words by Meghan Quinn

Book 2. Eli & Penny’s story was so sweet. Well, third trimester Penny kind of pissed me off. But, apparently it was the pregnancy hormones. 🤣 Aside from that, I can’t tell you the number of times I bust out laughing! I’m talking laugh out loud so hard. 😂 I love the way Meghan Quinn writes. I think this is the first time I’ve cried in one of her books though. But, they were happy tears. 🥹🥰 Will always recommend her books!

This one is my favorite in this series so far! As soon as we got a glimpse of this couple in book 1 I wanted to know more. I loved it so much. The accidental pregnancy trope isn’t a popular one, but personally I like it! I really enjoyed how it was done in Faye & Rush’s story. Also, the name they end up choosing for their baby was so adorable. 🥹🩵 Ah! I loved it all. Can’t wait for more from this series.

I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the student / teacher thing. But, it was well done. Just an 11-12 year age gap. No biggie. Haha! I liked Jennsyn & Toren’s story. Love the way Toren cares for his family & everyone around him. What a guy. 🥰

Loved this one! It’s been a little while since I did a sports romance. Really enjoyed Ford and Millie’s story. 🥰

Book 2. Shep & Thea’s story was so good. Poor Thea - what she went through is a great example of how abuse isn’t always physical. But thank goodness for our golden retriever, Shep. 🥰 And the entire Colson family for that matter. I love the way they just absorb everyone into their big family! They helped make Thea feel strong & brave enough to take back her life! 👏🏻 It was perfect! As always for all things Catherine Cowles, highly recommend! 🩷

So much going on in this sequel! & our MCs could not catch a freaking break. Whew! This story had me engaged & on the edge of my seat! The suspense was so real. Oh.. & the enemies to lovers vibes from book 1 got kicked up a notch in book 2! + forced proximity. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I ate it up! I had to know how everything was going to turn out but now I’m so sad it’s over and I want more from this world! Ah! I’d say this author did her dang job. I absolutely loved this book / this duology! I’ll definitely be recommending it! 😍

Catherine Cowles made me feel all the things in this one. I laughed out loud so many times. Kicked my feet. Gasped. Just all the things. I loved this small town romance! I cannot wait to continue this series!

What a cute & fun nostalgic read. I graduated high school in 2007 & the flashbacks / alternate reality in this book took me right down memory lane! So, if you graduated around that time & enjoy some magical realism with your romance then this one is for you! I think I could hear every song in my head as it was mentioned. But, in case you need a refresher, there’s a Spotify playlist to go along with it! Definitely recommend! 🩵
