girl this book fucked me up bc reading it at 2 am in a pitch-black room? TERRIBLE IDEA.... I still did it though and I'd do it all over again. Horror is such a tricky genre to get into, and I know that being a writer myself, but Jennifer L. Armentrout handled it so well. I was LITERALLY shaking as I got into the final stretch –– a little bit longer and I would have freaking peed myself.
I hope she writes more mystery / horror in the future! 10/10 !!!

One of my favorite JLA's to date! I adore her writing style. I don't usually cry with her books, but those chapters with Penn and the last few paragraphs...she got me.

Great YA thriller, fast paced read. Had me guessing untill the end- but then the end came and..... underwhelmed.

3.5 This was a really good book. I enjoyed the mystery side and the connection between Ella and Jensen. I thought the storyline was pretty good and it wasn't very easy to solve although I definitely had it sort of figured out half way through except for the little twist at the end. This is the 2nd Armentrout book that I've really liked from her.

OMG, this is probably my 2nd best read of the year & read them one right after the other.
This was less about the romance & more about the plot/murder mystery but the romance was still there & strong. The story was more about Ella & the murder mystery. Romance between Jenson & Ella came secondary.
Still single POV (which I dislike) but I don’t think we needed Jensons POV, since we pretty much knew what he was thinking.
This book had thrills, on the edge of your seat the whole book & it was a longer book, so it took me a couple days to read.
The author was able to fit ALOT into this book & just when you think it’s the end, the killer is dead… she gets attacked again!
The ending was so thrilling & the writing was good! I’d probably rather college students over high school students, but in this book you hardly noticed that they’re students.
Definitely a 5/5!!

This one seemed to have slipped through the net as I’m a long time fan of Jennifer Armentrout and she really knows how write a good book and I had no idea about this one! I saw it on my local library app and I immediately went for it.
And this one?! Ooof. On the edge of my seat. In fact, I was so on the edge, I’d probably fallen off the seat.
The story itself was compelling and enough to keep you addicted. It was one of those that I always looked forward to returning too. I mean yeah, it’s a run of the mill coming of age, typical high school teenage drama but with added murder and threat of impending doom. It was fab.
I rattled through it and it’s replenished my love for this author. I need to make my way through all of her books!
