2 of the main characters hated themselves so much that it made it hard for me to enjoy their points of view.

I feel like I somehow missed whatever the author was trying to say in this book, and am very much looking forward to book club to discuss.

Love this. It was so different from most of what I have been reading lately. It tells the multigenerational story of a family and ponders genetics. What is inherited what isn’t? Nature vs nurture but also the ethics of messing with genetics. It was a good one- very interesting story.

ARC gifted by the publisher @aaknopf (I didn’t include this line the first time writing this review and Goodreads sent an email saying they will remove this post. I have since included this gift disclosure.)

What I liked
-the writing is easy to read (it took me ~5 hours to finish)
-interesting ideas here and there (unfortunately none are fully-developed. See next part)
-I can see this being a good book club book. Lots of interesting topics for discussion! (I can see BOTM picking this for April/May
