This was a riotous, fun friends to lovers story! Two best friends for three years who had no idea of their feelings for each other. Combative with a twist of forbidden love, where two colleagues are not allowed to date, this story is full of tension and a little bit of drama.
These two are absolutely adorable together, and the whole way through, you'll be rooting for them! Wicked Janise from Human Resources will pop in at the most unlikely of time and remind them of their strict relationship rule!
This was a great story for fans of either of these sub-genres. Definitely check it out!

literally traumatized. the only time “little one” should be used is when your adoptive father is about to throw you off a cliff for a rock, not as a term of endearment in a romance book. and i cannot tolerate any book that has this many star wars references; please dont refer to someone’s penis as a lightsaber.

Thanks to the author for providing me with a free e-ARC of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
When I heard that this book has ‘The Office’ vibes, I was immediately sold. Add in the fact that there’s no third-act breakup, and I knew it was a match made in heaven.
Per My Last email follows Luke and Layla, two best friends who work together and have been in love with each other for the past three years. It definitely gave me Jim and Pam vibes (yay!) and the angst and mutual pining was top-notch.
I can honestly say that this was one of the sweetest romances I’ve read, and I absolutely flew through it. As much as I adored it, though, it’s not a new favourite. Everything felt super low-stakes for me, and while I appreciated that there wasn’t a third-act breakup, I had hoped there would be a bit more conflict towards the end.
I also feel like Luke and Layla were not subtle about their feelings AT ALL so there was no reason for them to wait this long to get together (aside from the bit of miscommunication that takes place at the start of the book).
None of these things are major issues, but they did slightly take away from my enjoyment of the book. Nonetheless, it was a lovely romance that gave me the warm and fuzzies, coupled with a delightful cast of character – except Janise. No one likes you, Janise (iykyk) ;)

• ARC Review: Per My Last Email •
If Jim and Pam remain your OTP – or if you just really love a workplace, friends-to-lovers romance – then you will be very happy with Per My Last Email.
The story follows Layla and Luke, who have worked together for three years at a publishing company (but in a satellite office in Philly? And it has in-house literary agents?), say they’re best friends, and both think they’re in unrequited love.
When the company announces a beachfront corporate retreat, Luke decides it’s time he try to date Layla – so he and his other best friend/coworker hatch a plan.
All in all, this is a cute, breezy story rife with office pranks, Star Wars jokes, well-meaning roomies and family members, one truly horrible HR person – and one running joke that turns into an extremely satisfying reveal.
I will note that Luke has a pretty major affectation that rankled me (probably a personal preference thing, tbh!), there are some plot points that I felt could’ve been developed further, and some character relationships (particularly, those with Luke’s family members) that I wished had more a little more depth.
But! If you’re in the mood for a sweet office romance with little spice, then it’s very likely that Per My Last Email will fit the bill.
