*Review of Volumes 4-6*
Nice punch punch.
Kaguha really is an awful, but wonderfully written character. So glad he got justice. But I wouldn't be surprised if he makes a second appearance. He hurt poor Yukine. I got a horrid jumpscare from Yukine. I was not ready for that :( So glad Yato's reputation is cleared up. I knew best boi had very good reason for what he did. Now I'm curious for how he handles the whole Hiyori human world thing. I have a feeling there's gonna be some more stakes revealed for Hiyori staying half Ayakashi.
So nice everything wrapped up neatly.
Well the enormous casualties and trauma aside, I think that's a win.

Such a good conclusion to the arc!

The characterization and the moral greyness was quite well done.

Good backstory, as normal. A little strangely placed, but bearable.

I can’t believe that last scene. Hiyori won’t call anymore ahhhhhhh.

So far, it follows the anime perfectly (or the anime followed the manga, to be more specific). I can't wait to read more!!

The grudge match continues to increase in intensity, as the lil kid who was a barely functioning sword upgrades due to extreme devotion to his god and now he can become TWO swords!
And while our slacker god ups his ferocity, the goddess with a grudge has been slowly getting worse, with the betrayal of one of her minions last time sapping her strength and the evil machinations of a bad medicine man...a bad medicine man who then unleashes a giant monster to destroy the rest of her indentured servants, weakening her more.
And then the last 3rd of the book expounds more on the tragic backstory of the glasses-wearing minion of the warrior goddess and all the guilt he's been carrying around since last time these two deities fought. Helmut Zemo from the MCU was right; the best way to get rid of an enemy is to cause discord from within.

Could this series stop beating me with the feels stick for FIVE FUCKING SECONDS?! PLEASE?!?!

Seriously, this was such an emotionally raw volume that had me tearing up towards the end. Bishamon's struggles were realistic, painful, and incredibly human. And while I still hate Kugaha and think he's a fucking obnoxious villain, his motivations and his thoughts on Bishamon were pretty sound. Bishamon has a reputation to uphold because of her name, and he felt she wasn't because she was too busy playing house with her family of shinki. That being said, Bishamon went through an unfathomably traumatic event regarding her past clan, so it makes sense that she would behave the way she did. But I loved how Yato said that what a god does is never wrong because honestly he's right. Bishamon wasn't wrong in pursuing Yato because he did kill her entire past clan save Kazuma, but she also wasn't entirely wrong in how she was taking care of her shinki. Yes, it wasn't the healthiest thing, but it wasn't life or death.

Okay, review's over, gotta go cry for a little while...
