My first Lauren Asher book! 3.75✨

I didn't know what to expect, but I loved Zahra with my whole heart. She is so sweet and innocent, and I related a lot with the way she felt.
Rowan, sometimes I hated him, sometimes I loved him so much. I think we still missed a lot of his backstory wih his father, but maybe we'll find out on later books.

I can't wait to read Declan's book. I think it'll be my favourite.

Actually, I'm sad it has taken me so long to read this book, I should have read this sooner. It's been months since a book made me feel so warm.

Leon and Tiffy couldn't have been more cute, and all the characters felt like a big family.

To be completely honest, I think this is cute, but it isn't ticking the same boxes as Rose & Ford's story. I found myself giggling every time they came up on the book, but Skylar and West didn't have the same effect on me. I don't know, West lacked personality in some bits, and I didn't connect with neither of their backstories.

The best part about this is the kids, they're so cute.

I actually can't wait to read Rhys and Tabitha story, Rhys looks right up my alley

This was so light and fun to read, I think it could do with a few less spicy scenes, since the middle of the book was kind of full of them, but otherwise I really liked it.

Oof, at some point, one of Evernight's books had to disappoint me. I didn't expect it to be this one, to be honest. A 2/5 for me.

The writing felt very YA for this kind of book. It's tagged as horror, but it has nothing that screams horror to me. Not even the setting.

The first few chapters, up until the first elevator, had an eerie feeling, but after that, it's like that feeling disappeared.

Most of the characters were subpar and poorly developed, and you could feel all the plot twists coming from miles away.

I'm glad I switched to audiobook for this one, as this would have been a DNF around 20% if not.

I think out of the three books, I liked this one the best. The mystery feels more "mature" than the other two, but I certainly didn't like the ending.

Felt very childish in a certain way, like happy ending, everyone lives, everyone forgets what happened, look at me, I'm a good girl way...

The ending kind of put me off, I feel like the tumor makes no sense if she was going to kill George anyway? Like it doesn't make any difference in the story.

I was hoping that maybe George/Geoffrey didn't exist or something.

I think this is a 4/4.25 for me, the body horror was just right, not overwhelming but enough well written that it made me gag several times, but it felt really predictable.

Also, the Alexis plot went nowhere… AND the sister deserves better.
