The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston

Plot- or character-driven? A mix
Strong character development? It's complicated
Loveable characters? Yes
Diverse cast of characters? No
Flaws of characters a main focus? No
Heartbreaking in the best way possible, I cried a lot, but I enjoyed every single page of this book

Okay so, 3.5 ✨
I think it's clear that SJM knows how to intertwine stories, and she knows how to write a start, and a middle, but she DOES NOT know how to write endings.
It was clearly a second draft, everything felt rushed, like telling a story you have already told before, sparing a lot of details.
Now: ⚠️spoilers⚠️:
The crossover was disappointing, I wasn't waiting for acotar5, but we didn't even see Feyre talk, not even Rhys was the main character of the crossover, just. And even then, the only thing they did was . 200 pages for that!!! And then some at the end, like if you're going to do a crossover, do it properly.
And don't get me started on the subtle mention of ToG with the
I didn't understand at all the Lidia storyline, I didn't care about, the same way I didn't care about Emile and Sofie in CC2, it was useless to the storyline, put there only to tell us
The same with Hunt's storyline. Why tell us he's if that didn't make him any special? Not even more powerful, just that he could have, we already knew he could power Bryce up. Also, he was all angry and that about finding out, just to forget 1 chapter later, and suddenly he wasn't angry anymore.
Overall, i think the start was slow, but with it picked up the story and flowed somewhat nicely until 300/350 pages at the end.
The ending felt anticlimactic, like it was too easy to, we didn't even see anything about the battle, and as always SJM main characters are always when you need it the most... If you've read ToG or Acotar, the battle felt repetitive, it's always the same, except this time we had
