I’ve tried the audio, I was trying to read the arc too and I just cannot. The issue for me isn’t really that Kidan is insufferable. The issue is this disconnect with the storytelling and the plot. What is happening!?
My first book by this author and it was really fun. I enjoyed it but I feel like the FMC falls flat for me. It feels as if she’s very much unfinished as a character and I found her to be slightly bland. I actually think the MMC was far more developed than the FMC. Other than that, this was a great reading experience. This is definitely for all the folks who have been heavily invested in fandom. It’s for all the self-insert fanfic readers too lol. I think most people will have a delightful time with this.
I feel so thankful that I was able to receive an arc of this. I cannot wait for everyone else to read it. I definitely think this will be a favorite. Romance does a lot. It has the capacity to engage with a wide range of topics but I was surprised to see this one deal with the communication of holidays, collective bargaining, and being anti-monopoly. I think I was mostly surprised because the synopsis didn’t reveal that it would be anything like this.
It was funny, sweet, heartwarming, and also very moving. I hope that Raasch continues to write more adult because I thoroughly enjoyed this. Her dialogue work is really great, it’s something that I aspire to replicate as a writer myself. The characters were not only witty and snarky but they had so much depth. I really enjoyed the character work with this one so much.
Also, the romance was so believable because the chemistry was there!
This was a certified banger and I can’t wait for others to read.
I definitely enjoyed this book and I’m realizing I do like to read second chance romances but I feel that Caleb and Sarah’s marital issues were solved too prematurely..if that makes sense? I felt that maybe they had some more to work through.
I will say I do like the way the author handles grief! I’m always interested in seeing how people write and handle this topic. Anyways, I would definitely recommend this to others.
This is the second memoir I’ve read in the past couple of days. I’m usually not a memoir person but I’ve been feeling this pull to learn about others more and hear the stories of their lives. I didn’t know much about Anna outside of her marriage with that comedian. And tbh, I like that she didn’t even bring him up in it because I KNOW a lot of people expected it.
I appreciated the angle that she went with, which was grappling with her mental health and how men in general have contributed to the harm she has experienced while also accepting that she still loves men but has this desire for them to do and be better.
This book is incredibly triggering so I advise people to be very gentle with themselves when reading it. It comes out next Tuesday .
I…honestly don’t know what happened with this book but I’m frustrated with how this ended. The first half, I thought there was going to be a successful landing but I remain unsatisfied with the choices that were made. I still recommend this but I feel disappointed.
