Christmas by Design by Allie Samberts
5.0
This is honestly the perfect holiday novella. Beckett and Gemma are SO SWEET! There is something about a grumpy but sweet cinnamon roll man who just falls so easily for the sunshine girl who loves Christmas! Their banter was so easy and fun. And not to mention all the cute little moments between Beckett and Nova! My heart was melting right along side Gemma’s!!
Gemma’s anxiety was written so well. And Beckett never made her feel less because of it. He asked questions and observed and was able to meet her where she was and help her the way she needed. It was SO sweet.
This is the first book I’ve read of Allie’s but it won’t be the last!! I’ve been wanting to read her books forever but so many books so little time 😭 but this is me officially committing to reading her books inn the new year!!
A Fine Line by Juliana Smith
2.5
This is the end of an era!! I’ve loved getting to know the Wells and Crew and Winnie were such a good ending! I love rivals to lovers and their banter and the tension was so good!! I also really loved how soft they were with each other. It took a second for them to really be comfortable with each other. But once they did everything really fell into place!! I thought Crew’s ADHD was written well, and the way Winnie was really able to help him feel comfortable with that part of himself was so sweet.
The epilogue and the extended epilogue were so so sweet, it was nice to see everyone one last time!
There was a lot that felt rushed, and I had such a hard time keeping with the timing of things. I also know that the author worked so hard to get this out and kelt pushing it back…and had to publish when they did because of other things and I just kind of wish it had a little more time to bake.
Dream Girl Drama by Tessa Bailey
3.75
Once again Tessa Bailey has written a man who is SO DOWN BAD and as always it was SUCH A GOOD TIME. And she knows how to write characters that have a lot going on under the surface but is able to balance it so well with humor and SPICE and a little bit of cringe (mostly complimentary). Sig and Chloe were honestly kind of perfect?? I liked the build up in The Au Pair Affair, seeing the tension between them before we really know about their relationship really helped set the scene! And seeing where they really started!! And how quickly they fell for each other!! This is another classic Tessa Bailey book and I think everyone is really going to love it!
I really liked Sig and Chloe’s relationship. They were very much IN LOVE with each other and they were actually such good friends. He made sure she was supported and listened too, and he was teaching her how to be properly independent while still supporting her. And she was someone he could be vulnerable with, even though he was doing so much for her and didn’t want her to see him as weak, he was eventually able to let his guard down for her.
The drama was…a lot. But that just means it was perfectly named!! Yes they were step siblings to be so it’s a little odd to be in a relationship, and they both had a lot on the line and didn’t want any bad press…but also if you love each other just BE together and people will get over it. I just wanted someone to make a choice…but they kept going back and forth and back and forth… and it was BECAUSE they loved each other so much, and that was OBVIOUS. But it was a little painful.
Thank you so much for the arc in exchange for a honest review! I am SO GRATEFUL!!
The Au Pair Affair by Tessa Bailey
3.75
The thing about a Tessa Bailey book is that it’s going to be wild and she’s going to write a man obsessed. And she once again delivered! I love a single dad/nanny romance and throw in a little hockey and it’s such a good combo! Listen was this perfect?? Not at all. But it was a good time and really a classic Tessa Bailey romance!!
Burgess and Tallulah were a good time! He was such a fierce protector, it’s literally his job to be a defender, and she really needed someone to be on her side and still let her be able to grow and change. He also needed someone not only to hold him responsible but he also desperately needed someone to be vulnerable with. And it took a second, but they were really able to make that happen.
I was truthfully disappointed in the interactions between Burgess and his daughter. Don’t get me wrong he was so rough around the edges and he cleared needed Tallulah to finally help bridge the gap between him and Lissa…but even with her help i still didn’t feel like there wasn’t a lot of growth which was a bummer.

Out of Focus by Cristina Santos

I loved this book so much. Rafael and Charlie were the perfect end to this series! And the perfect segue into the next series that Cristina has teased!!! This whole series was full of so much love and I’ve loved watching all three stories unfold throughout all three books! And Raf and Charlie were who I was looking most forward to and they did not disappoint!! They were tender and sweet and so vulnerable with each other!!
I loved how they both misunderstood each other SO MUCH. But the build up to their eventual friendship was so worth the wait. I also loved how easily they became friends, it wasn’t all smooth sailing, but once they really gave each other a chance it was clear it was meant to be!! And they were SUCH GOOD FRIENDS! And of course Raf was DOWN BAD from the start. And Charlie took a little bit longer, but also knew pretty quickly how special he was. They were just SO DAMN SWEET!
I also really loved how their ADHD was written and how it was so different for each of them. Charlie’s autism was written with so much love. Raf was really able to be someone that saw her and accepted her as she was without her needed to mask her authentic self. and seeing her be able to connect with Raf’s niece was such a special moment for both of them!
I love them so much. And since Raf’s brothers are next up!! I can’t wait to keep seeing where life takes Charlie and Raf!
Accidentally Amy by Lynn Painter

I read this when it was indie published a couple years ago and loved it! And I LOVED this new version!! The world needed more Izzy and Blake and I’m so happy I got to read their story again! I forgot how FUN this book is! It’s fast paced and there is so much banter and teasing and there’s lots of tension!
The banter between Blake and Izzy TOP TIER! They are separately trying to fight their feelings and stay friends! And they do a really good job of becoming really good friends!! But they also do a really bad job of not falling for each other!! And it’s just such a good time!
And I forgot Izzy’s cat’s name is The Darkling! And I LOVE that so much!

Deep End by Ali Hazelwood
5.0
Ali Hazelwood is in her sports romances era and I LOVED every second!!! And they were at Stanford!! And doing STEM things! It was all the good things about an Ali book in the best way. But it was also so different! It was complex and there were so many moving parts and it was MESSY but Lukas and Scarlett were simple, still complicated yes, but also so simple. And so so so so STEAMY! And they’re also fun and cute and I LOVED watching them together. The way they were really able to see the other was so beautiful. I just love them so much!
Lukas and Scarlett are quite honestly everything to me. Their connection and their trust and the way they just can BE with each other was absolute perfect. I loved how complex their lives were, but when they were together everything made sense. It wasn’t easy, and there were times it was frustrating to see them not communicating, or them being too busy. But it made perfect sense, they both needed to figure things out, Scarlett had so much she working through. And Lukas. Lukas was DOWN BAD. And the way Ali writes a man who loves his girl gets me EVERY TIME.
I am feeling SO GRATEFUL I got to read this already 🥹

Unromance by Erin Connor

This is going to be one of the best books of the year I can just feel it. I absolutely loved everything about this. This is one of those books where I am in awe of every part and I wish I could just the way I feel into words but I’ll never be really be able too. Mason and Sawyer are two people who want and need different things out of love and romance. They themselves are opposites in many ways, and they find themselves falling in love along the way even though desperately wanted to do anything but. Mason and Sawyer are absolutely everything good in a romance book and I LOVED watching them fall in love.
Both Mason and Sawyer were so complex. Where Mason was so open and loose with his feelings and his love, Sawyer was so guarded and scared. They both just wanted someone to see them for who they were though. And watching them realize that they really could be that for each other and get that from each other was so beautiful.
I loved all the cutesy romance movie/book things they did together. They really were the perfect one night stand to friends to lovers where he falls so hard and first, and she is the jaded romance writer who doesn’t believe in love anymore. They were so soft and sweet and it was all the little things inbetween their Unromance list that really made their relationship feel so special.
