Stuck with You by Ali Hazelwood
I have one note and it's that I need to be in the mood for Ali's books. The stem ones are all so incredibly similar (while still holding my attention) so breaks between them are recommended lol.
A Bánh Mì for Two by Trinity Nguyen
Not sure what to rate this. There were moments where I really loved the romance, but other moments where it felt uncharacteristic.
I found the ends of the chapters pretty abrupt.
I've seen some other reviews mention that this novel tried to cover too much in too little pages and I think I agree. We know that Vivi is in school, but if we weren't told that ar the beginning I would've completely forgotten because it's almost never mentioned again (there's maybe two lines about homework and daydreaming in class).
Also saw some reviews mention that the setting is unrealistic at times but not something I can input on.

Make the Season Bright by Ashley Herring Blake
3.5
Might change the star rating but 3.5 feels good for now. It wasn't bad, I didn't ever feel the want to dnf it. But I never really felt the angst or romance that should've been there.
I didn't even feel a whole lot of sexual tension, it just kinda felt like they were having sex without the tension.
And despite reading this during a snow storm, it didn't feel Christmasy enough.

Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood

Possible longer review layer but I liked this a bit more than the love hypothesis but less than bride and Check & mate.
In the Light of the Moon by Noelle Upton

Man I loved this. Had so much love for the characters, enjoyed the plot and the world as well. Can't wait to get the sequel.
There were a few mistakes as far as editing/spelling goes, but it's indie published and it wasn't enough of an issue to remove any stars.

Check & Mate by Ali Hazelwood

Despite the high star rating currently I'm feeling a tad conflicted.
I will say, during the first two-three chapters, I really thought I was gonna dnf. But something after that just absolutely hooked my attention and I loved it.
I was thrown off by their ages (18 and 20) for this to be YA, and was also a bit thrown by the amount of sex talk and swearing. Plus, the characters are practically living and travelling on their own for a lot of the book. So it really felt like it should've been marketed as new adult.

I switched my phone over and lost my notes on this :(
There wasn't anything wrong when it came to the writing, but it never really grabbed my attention. I do think there were some really cute winter date scenes but that's kinda all.
I think the plotline would've worked better with characters that were a bit aged up. It was just hard to believe the backstory of the one character would've all happened when she was 14. I get the industry is fucked up, but I just couldn't get into it.
Okay also was just reminded of a scene where their older brothers serve them alcohol in public at the business they own- dumb as fuck. I don't mind having underage characters drink in booms because it is realistic, but to encourage adult figures supplying them with it and not showing that it's bad? Nope
